Last Wednesday Andrew Brown was shot and killed by Pasquotank County Sheriff's serving a felony warrant. Our small sleepy corner of North East North Carolina is now the topic of news media around the country and around the world. We didn't ask to get famous, and certainly not this way. There is no question that critical and deadly mistakes were made, and county leaders continue to compound the problem thru an inept ability to understand the gravity of their own actions in the days immediately following the incident.
Brother Mark closes out this two-part series asking why does God let bad things happen to good people.
Over the past several weeks something wonderful has happened among the many great things God is doing at Moyock Christian Fellowship. We have had two new pastors and one rabbi subscribe to our website. We have over half dozen known United Methodist pastors in the greater Hampton Roads area already following our ministry, and possibly more that we are unaware of, and a number of Baptist preachers too.
Both Good News Magazine and Juicy Ecumenism continually post about the dangers of the current construct of the United Methodist Church (UMC), its Bishops, and especially the liberal Council of Bishops, but they never seem to address it as a problem. I do my best to remember to say thank you to our visitors and returning guests, but despite my best intentions I seem to fail to remember to do so. As of today, this site has been visited by individuals in 134 countries around the world. I copied and pasted all 134 from our website statistics page below. I think one of the neat things about the list, are the countries that either have a very small Christian population or theoretically none at all.
It’s getting harder and harder to find anyone who can tell you how many books there are in the Bible. Even then, those who know the answer have a hard time breaking that number down between the Old and New Testaments. Spoiler alert, there are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. But does it end there? No it doesn’t, the Catholic Bible has 7 additional books, more on that later.
Brother Mark and I Walked to Emmaus together several years, and I was introduced to this song for the first time on that walk. It has remained my favorite song. Cory Asbury sings this wonderful song with commentary making the song easily understood by first time listeners. Download this song here, and the album here. … Continue reading Reckless Love – Cory Asbury
David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.
