Thomas Lambrecht’s post What Separation Means for Clergy at Good News Magazine is an important read, it explains the path ahead for Pastors of local churches as well as Bishops in the United Methodist denomination.
The denomination is set to split in May following the 2020 General Conference.
I have written before that based on my own experiences with a conference Bishop, I see no return on investment in having them in any new denomination. They are costly, and largely concern themselves with the operation of the bureaucracy they have created to justify their need.
Lambrecht discusses the vetting of Pastors desiring to align with new Methodist denominations. An indepth vetting of Bishops is needed as well.
